Construction worker wins $1.1 million for car accident injuries
March 1, 2010
A judge has ruled in favour of a 58 year-old construction worker who was involved in two separate car accidents and subsequently unable to work.
Mike Burdett was awarded $1.1 million (CDN) in a British Columbia court. During the ruling Justice Linda Loo stated that if Burdett had not been injured in the two accidents, he could have worked until he was in his 70s, like his father.
She awarded Burdett $900,000 for loss of earning capacity, plus $200,000 in non-pecuniary damages and minor sums for future care and special damages.
