Provincial insurance overseers are set to weigh in on the credit scoring issue.
Superintendents of insurance across Canada are weighing the question of whether there’s a place for credit scoring in determining insurance rates, Robert Bradley, PEI’s superintendent of insurance, told the CBC February 1. Bradley told CBC.ca that provincial regulators are assessing how much poor credit scores are costing policyholders on their premiums, and then determine whether the government should step in.
