Bulletin: AIG Still P&C NPW Leader: A.M. Best

American International Group (AIG) still remains a property-casualty powerhouse, according to A.M. Best’s latest ranking of top U.S. P&C groups by net premiums written. The insurer is ranked second on the list, with $31 billion in 2008 NPW—after State Farm, with $48 billion. Allstate, Liberty Mutual and Berkshire Hathaway Insurance round out the top five, with Travelers Group, Nationwide Group, Farmers Insurance Group, Progressive Insurance Group and Hartford Insurance Group finishing off the leading 10 companies by NPW.
